Tribe Network is Canada’s BIPOC Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub — we provide Black, Indigenous and People of Colour with access to the relevant networks, resources and opportunities to succeed as entrepreneurs and innovators. Tribe Network partners with community organizations, governments, educators, researchers and organizations who share the vision of applying innovative solutions to the task of improving the quality of life of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. Our goal is to support BIPOC access to employment, education, training and a network that provides them with the knowledge, skills, and agency they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
The Opportunity
Board members will steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure the non-profit has adequate resources to advance its mission. Board members will attend up to 8 meetings a year with the CEO to receive updates on the organization’s activities. Board terms are from 2 to 4 years in length.
Responsibilities of the Board Directors
Provide strategic stewardship of the organization’s priorities
Building relationships and partnerships within the community
Identify and manage risks of the organization
Approve financial plan and monitor performance
Monitor the performance of the Founder/CEO and provide direction, as well as support as required

Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology
Social Enterprise
Marketing & PR
Human Resources
Non-profit governance
Other considerations:
A minimum two-thirds of positions on the board of directors will be occupied by individuals who self-identify as Black, Indigenous or Persons of Colour.
